He is an ordained minister of Church of South India, worked for a term of five years as Executive Secretary in the Interfaith Commission of National Council of Churches in India. Even otherwise, since 1990 he has been  associated with Interfaith dialogue; has a Ph.D. from Oxford University in Islamic Studies.
